Grade A – Excellent Condition

Rental Condition

  • Top of Laptop: No visible scratches, dents, or signs of wear. The finish is pristine and smooth.
  • Bottom of Laptop: No visible scratches or scuff marks. All feet intact.
  • Palmrest: Clean with no signs of wear or discoloration. The surface is smooth and free from visible damage.
  • Sides of Laptop: No visible scratches, dents, or abrasions. All ports and buttons are intact and functioning.
  • Keyboard: All keys are fully functional with no excessive wear or fading. Possibly oily shine on keys. No cracks, discoloration, or missing keys.
  • Screen: No dead or hot pixels, cracks, or visible scratches. The display is bright with no discoloration or light bleeding.
  • Battery: Operating system indicates charged battery will operate laptop for at least 60 minutes.

Grade B – Good Condition

Rental Condition

  • Top of Laptop: Some minor to medium surface scratches or light scuffs from normal use, but no major damage. Small dents possible. Minor or Medium edge and corner chipping.
  • Bottom of Laptop: Minor or medium scuffs or wear. One or more feet might be worn or missing. Possible damage to weak but non-structural plastic (fan vents may have broken pieces to them.)
  • Palmrest: Slight discoloration or minor wear visible, but no cracks or significant damage.
  • Sides of Laptop: Light to medium scratches or small dents, but all ports and buttons are fully operational. Minor or Medium edge and corner chipping. Lockdown port will be functional.
  • Keyboard: Keys show light signs of wear or fading or heavy shine, but no damaged or missing keys. All keys work.
  • Screen: Small, light scratches or less than 3 minor discolorations (Bright or dark spots) less than ½ inch in size in some areas, may have minor stress cracked bezels. Up to 5 dead or hot pixels, Light and spotty wear of oleophobic coating. There may be light wear from contact with the keyboard.

Grade C – Fair Condition

Rental condition if only minor cosmetic damage

  • Top of Laptop: Noticeable scratches, scuff marks, or heavy dents visible from normal use.
  • Bottom of Laptop: Scratches, scuffs and wear from use. Bottom may have cracks and missing pieces that will not impair function. All feet may be worn or missing.
  • Palmrest: Significant discoloration, heavy wear and cracks may be visible. Worn paint and edge and corner chipping.
  • Sides of Laptop: Scratches, dents, or damage to the edges and corners. Lock down cable port may not be functional Ports/buttons may show signs of wear and may not all be functional. Network and charge ports are functional.
  • Keyboard: Keys may show heavy signs of use (fading, wear), but still fully functional. One or more keys may be slightly loose or damaged.
  • Screen: Some visible scratches, light burn-in, or discoloration including brighter spots. Small cracks on edges and some signs of heavy usage. Dead or hot pixels, heavy wear of oleophobic coating. Screen is viewable and usable. There may be medium to heavy wear from contact with the keyboard.

Grade D – Poor Condition

To be sold as is, not rental condition

  • Top of Laptop: Heavy scratches, dents, or significant signs of wear from extensive use. Could be completely worn or mangled.
  • Bottom of Laptop: Heavy scuff marks, scratches, missing feet, or noticeable damage. Could be completely worn or mangled.
  • Palmrest: Significant wear, discoloration, and potential cracks or peeling on the surface. Touchpad may malfunction or not work. Could be completely worn or mangled.
  • Sides of Laptop: Major scratches, dents, or damaged or non-functional ports. Several buttons may be missing or non-functional. Could be completely worn or mangled.
  • Keyboard: Missing or non-functional keys. Heavy signs of use and wear. Some keys may be stuck or broken. Could be completely worn or mangled.
  • Screen: Cracked or heavily scratched. Broken Panels. Dead pixels, discoloration, or visible screen burn-in. Could be completely worn or mangled.

Grade AS IS – Scrap or Completely Non-Functional Equipment

Only sold as is, not rental condition

  • Entire unit: will not be tested for function. Unit will likely not power on, and may be missing major components including the screen, keyboard, battery, hard drive and memory.
